Border Patrol

Lay Down Bike, Dunefest 2007

The Border Patrol
The Border Patrol bike is a 320 horse Suzuki 1620 cc motor built by Larry Cook of Larry Cook Racing. It has a 12 foot long chromolly chassis made by Dave Moore of Dave Moore Racing. The body is an original paint job by Shawn Blehm of Fine-Line Striping. The Border Patrol quad has earned the nickname "The Lay-Down" as the rider has to "lay down" with their feet behind them and their hands in front of them to grip the handle bars.

Jim Iverson broke the track record at Dunefest in August 2008 with a 3.451; the fastest pass on "The Lay-Down" was a 3.357 at Albany Sand Drags. Jim Iverson and the AIM Racing team previously took 1st place in the Pro bracket at Albany Sand Drags for the 2007 season, as well as the Multicylinder Unlimited class at Dunefest in 2006 and 2007 on the Border Patrol bike.

The Carpe Diem Quad
The Carpe Diem bike made it's debut in 2004 at Barlow Point Raceway. The Carpe Diem bike has run several different motors over the years, all built by Larry Cook of Larry Cook Racing. It is a crowd favorite with a custom chassis by Dave Moore of Dave Moore Racing and a custom paint job by Shawn Blehm of Fine-Line Striping. While AIM Racing didn't take 1st place in any class that season with the new bike, the NWSCA honored Jim Iverson with the title of "Driver of the Year", and Shawn Blehm with "Mechanic of the Year" for their accomplishments.

The list of wins for the Carpe Diem bike starts at Dunefest in 2004, when Jim became "King of the Hill", he followed that up with 1st place in NWSCA's Sport Bike in 2005, and in 2007 he took 1st place for the season in Albany Motor Sport's Pro Bike I category. Shawn has also had some impressive win's on the Carpe Diem bike at Dunefest: 1st place in Sport 2006, and 1st place in Pro 2007.
