Shawn Blehm rides the "Carpe Viam" bike, which name means "seize the road". It has a 1427 cc Suzuki GS motor with 221 horsepower, built by Larry Cook of Larry Cook Racing. The "Carpe Viam" has a 1 2 3 override transmission and a Dyna 2000 ignition system with a 300 DL two step. The bike's chassis was built to pro stock motorcycle specifications by Ryan Evans, and has a custom paint job by the bike's rider, Shawn Blehm of Fine Line Striping. "Carpe Viam" and it's rider weigh approximately 650 lbs.
Shawn began racing motorcycles in 2009 at Woodburn Dragstrip after more than seven years racing quads(see AIM's Sand Drag History). Shawn has adjusted remarkably well to asphalt racing, finishing in 2nd place several times in 2009, once at a NHRA event. His best ET is 8.09 at 163 miles per hour. Shawn took first place on Sunday, July 11 in the Quick Eight class at Woodburn.
